Christian service allows the student to witness and participate in the building of Christ's kingdom. It empowers the student to be faithful to our Holy Cross tradition that calls us to "have the competence to see and the courage to act." Thus our service must directly serve the poor and the vulnerable.
The Christian Service project is a graduation requirement in the Religious Studies curriculum. Each student is required to complete the hours of service specified below for each year of attendance. The campus minister gives prior approval to the type of service that each student chooses. This approval is necessary for fulfillment of the service requirement. Sophomores, juniors and seniors must also submit an essay about their service experiences.
