Along with the Universal Chuch, we recognize that the Eucharist is the source from which all that we do comes and the summit to which all we do goes. As a Catholic high school, we gather together around the table of the Lord and share this belief.
The entire school family gathers as a community for Eucharistic Liturgy at key times of the year. The school year begins with the
Opening School Liturgy. This Mass is traditionally celebrated on Sept. 15, the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, the patronal feast of the Congregation of Holy Cross, and includes the commissioning of new
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.
Liturgies are celebrated on Holy Days of Obligation like Dec. 8, the Feast of the
Immaculate Conception, as well as and special days like
Ash Wednesday and March 19, the
Feast of St. Joseph, the patron of the Brothers of Holy Cross. The school year comes to a close with the
Senior Mass, celebrated on the seniors' last day of school, and with the Baccalaureate Mass, which is celebrated in conjunction with the graduation ceremony.
For the further spiritual development of students and faculty, Eucharist is celebrated every Wednesday and Friday morning before school in the Hugh O'Neil Memorial Chapel of the Holy Family.
