In today's highly complex, technological world, education in the use of various types of technology prepares Hoban's students for a successful future. The Technology and Business Department offers courses to enhance preparation in business accounting, website development, computer graphics, desktop publishing and television production.
Hoban's local area network reaches across the campus, with computers and large-screen presentation monitors in every classroom. Students have access to 170 computers with 30 additional units for school operations. Five labs, including a wireless, mobile laptop lab, offer extensive experience on both Pentium PC and Power Macintosh platforms. There are 24 SmartBoards and projectors combinations that are connected to the classroom computer and provide the capability to perform interactive presentations.
Every classroom is equipped with a presentation monitor and workstation giving teachers and students the opportunity to share class notes and projects in a more dynamic manner.
Computer resources are available before and after school, as well as during study periods.
Every freshman receives instruction in responsible Internet use, electronic library resources and software for word processing, managing databases and creating multimedia presentations.
