Welcome to the school on the hill.

Hoban is a Catholic, coeducational high school sponsored by the Brothers of Holy Cross. Since 1953, Hoban has been nurturing the hearts and educating the minds of students.

Hoban’s rigorous academics combine traditional and innovative courses, including college preparatory, honors, advanced placement and elective courses. On average, 98 percent of graduates enroll in college or serve our country. Hoban students are not only prepared for college, they are prepared to lead.

OUR MISSION

We are a Catholic high school in the Holy Cross tradition. We celebrate our diversity, value each person and welcome one another with the hospitality of Christ. As a family of learners, anchored in gospel values, we empower each other to grow spiritually, develop intellectually and reach out in service to others. Within an innovative and orderly learning environment we are committed to challenging each student in both heart and mind to be a compassionate individual, a lifelong learner and a responsible steward of God's creation.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Blessed Basil Moreau, founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, taught that education of the heart is as important as education of the mind. Hoban is a Christian community where educators in the faith lead students to mature physically, academically, emotionally and spiritually. The Hoban philosophy is to instill in graduates the competence to see and the courage to act.

Hoban has always endeavored to ensure equity and diversity. It serves students with a variety of abilities and backgrounds and unites them into a community where the gifts and talents of each person are celebrated. To meet the varied needs of its students, the school offers a comprehensive course of studies as well as a wide array of athletic and cocurricular activities.

Through their studies, Hoban students develop a knowledge of their faith, and are motivated to a life of prayer, spiritual growth and participation. An active campus ministry program and a program of Christian service instill a sense of compassion and a willingness to serve those in need and less fortunate.
