Dear Parents and Students,
As you are aware Governor DeWine extended school closures through at least May 1.
Throughout the next four weeks, Hoban students will continue to participate in online learning through Canvas. Teachers will post work for the week on Mondays by 10 a.m. and hold office hours from 10:30 a.m. - Noon and 1 - 2:30 p.m. each day to be available to quickly reply to students and parents.
One change that will go into effect beginning Monday, April 6 is that departments will be asked to limit their optional online meetings to specific days and times. This is to mitigate conflicting meetings. Teachers will continue to announce these opportunities through their class Canvas pages each week.
Parents are encouraged to check PowerSchool for updates to your child’s academic progress. PowerSchool allows parents to sign up for weekly email progress reports. Please contact Associate Principal Br. James Spooner (firstname.lastname@example.org), if you have issues with PowerSchool.
With Easter Break beginning Thursday, April 6, we encourage all students to take time away from their devices to relax, recharge and spend time with their family during Easter. Therefore, there will be no online work or assignments from April 6-19. Online classes will resume on Monday, April 20.
Thank you for all of your support and partnership throughout the last few weeks of online learning. We are so proud of our students’ dedication and resiliency through this transition. We recognize how hard this is on our students and want to do everything we can to ensure their success now and beyond these unwonted times.
If we can be of any additional assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. Through the intercession of St. André Bessette and Blessed Basil Moreau, let us offer our prayers to the Holy Family for the health and safety of the entire Hoban Family, our nation, and our world.
Emily J. Ramos, Ed.D., Principal
