Hoban’s varsity Academic Challenge team returned victorious from Kent State on Feb. 3, winning the cochampionship of the Summit County Academic Challenge North League along with Western Reserve Academy. Junior Owen Kovalik was recognized as Top Player of the entire Summit County League of 184 players on 21 teams. Junior Aaron Bielecki also earned All-Star Honorable Mention. Senior Thomas Kesic, junior Jonathan Popa and sophomore Rachael Rice were also key contributors to Hoban’s championship. The team is back in action on the Nordson Channel 5 TV competition and in regional matches in April.
