Since 1984, the North Coast League (NCL) has been an association of Catholic and Christian high schools organized for the purpose of structuring an interscholastic program among members schools. Current schools include Archbishop Hoban, Beaumont, Benedictine, Cleveland Central Catholic, Gilmour Academy, Lake Catholic, Notre Dame Cathedral Latin, Padua Franciscan, Saint Joseph Academy, Villa Angela-St Joseph, Walsh Jesuit and Warren JFK.
To maintain stability and competitive structure of high school football for the NCL, member schools have agreed to remove football from the league and treat it as an independent sport beginning in the Fall 2020 season. This concept will allow each member school to create a flexible and competitive schedule.
NCL member schools will compete in the league in all other sports as they have in the past. This concept for football was agreed to as a proactive measure to allow our student athletes to compete for league championships and awards in most sports while allowing member schools flexibility and quality competition in football.
