Seniors Athena Markowski and Brady Rowan were recognized by the Optimist Club of Akron at a dessert supper at Greystone Hall in downtown Akron on April 16. There were speeches by Tim Miller, vice president of the Akron Board of Education, and by Marco Sommerville, senior adviser to Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan. Each year the club asks local schools to nominate a male and female graduating senior for the honor.
