Hoban and the Cleveland Browns held a blessing and dedication event for the Wentz Family Foundation Fields on Sept. 24. The dedication and blessing celebrated the construction and refurbishment of the school’s grass athletic fields located on Black Street. The $1.1 million capital project resurfaced two playing fields and the softball field with lined, high-quality synthetic turf.
Following remarks from Bud Wentz, Browns representatives Darrell Taylor and offensive lineman Drew Forbes, school and city officials, the school held a pep assembly with the entire Hoban student body.
The NFL Foundation Grassroots Program is a partnership of the National Football League Foundation and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation to provide non-profit, neighborhood-based organizations with financial and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety and accessibility of local athletic fields.
