Annual Canned Food Drive
Hoban's annual canned food drive will be held between Monday, Nov. 9 to Friday, Nov. 20, and the need in the community is greater than ever this year. Organized by Student Council, the goal is to collect 15,000 cans.
Details for Students
- Cans will be collected during first-period class on blue days and fifth-period class on gold days
- Teachers will count cans and submit the totals
- Students will receive a raffle ticket for every five cans and for every $3 donated. Students can enter drawings each day during lunch periods using the raffle tickets
- Sanitize or wash your hands after donating each day
- Late donations will not be added to the overall total
Fully Remote Learners can participate as well by dropping off your donations at school. Contact Mr. Tocchi (tocchiz@hoban.org) for details.
Requested Food Items
You are highly encouraged to bring in the following items for the Canned Food Drive:
- Boxes of short noodle pasta (bowtie, rotini, penne, ziti, rigatoni, etc.)
- Pasta sauce
- Canned meat items (tuna, chicken, spam)
- Hearty soup cans
- Boxes of crackers
- Mac and cheese (No single-serve easy mac containers please)
- Thanksgiving food items (boxed potatoes, stuffing mix, canned turkey, canned gravy, canned vegetables, cornbread mix, etc)
- Canned fruit
- Jars of peanut butter
- Cash donations
