New associate principal for academics named

Katelyn Seliskar has been named associate principal of academics, a new position at Hoban. She comes to Hoban from Gilmour Academy, a sister Holy Cross school. At Gilmour, she taught science in the middle and upper schools, and was coordinator of the accreditation process for the International Council Advancing Independent Schools. She says she has a passion for the power of Catholic education and leads with an attitude of service.

Seliskar earned a B.S. in ecology and evolutionary biology with a minor in English literature from the University of Rochester, and a master's of science in adolescent education from the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester. She is currently working on her Ph.D. from the Concordia University of Chicago with a concentration in curriculum and instruction. Prior to her time at Gilmour, Seliskar taught science in Nashville, Tenn. She thinks Catholic education is an excellent catalyst for making the world a better place by enriching the hearts and minds of students.
