Powers to substitute for math teacher Veverka

Hoban welcomes Melissa Powers, who will serve as long-term substitute for math teacher Sue Veverka over the next few weeks. Powers joins Hoban from Jobs for Ohio's Graduates, where she worked individually with students as a tutor in mathematics. Previously, she taught math at various levels at Walsh Jesuit High School and Akron Public Schools, where she also served as an assistant athletic director and basketball coach. She has been a part of lesson design teams and district assessment teams for Akron Public Schools and was honored as Buchtel High School's Teacher of the Year in 2012.
