Sophomore wins trip to D.C. in Holocaust art contest

Sophomore Isabelle Hahn and art teacher Jill Fortman visited Washington on April 16 on an all-expense-paid trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. Hahn won first place in the City of Akron's Holocaust Arts and Writing Contest for her drawing entitled “Inception.” They also visited various monuments and memorials and met with a representative from Congressman Tim Ryan's office.

At an awards ceremony at the Akron-Summit County Main Library on April 30, Hahn received the "Best of the Best" award for her drawing. This award is given to only one of the first place winners in the three categories: visual art, writing and spoken word. Information, photos and a video of the D.C. trip, can be found on the City of Akron's website
