T.K. Griffith named principal

T.K. Griffith named principal

During Archbishop Hoban High Schools’ September Board of Directors meeting, a unanimous decision was made to approve President Chris DiMauro’s ’99 recommendation to name T.K. Griffith ’89 as Hoban’s next principal.

Griffith is well known to the Hoban school community, having served Hoban for more than 27 years in various leadership roles. Most recently, he has held the title of interim principal since May. In this role, Griffith has worked diligently to ensure Hoban continues to advance a high standard of academic achievement for all students while overseeing a safe and successful start to the school year.

“I have known T.K. for many years,” DiMauro said. “As a student, he was one of the impactful Hoban educators who influenced my decision to become a teacher. He is a tremendous asset to our school community in many ways, but most specifically, he has a true passion for educating the hearts and minds of students. I know that I am part of a large collection of Hoban graduates who have also been inspired by his teaching, coaching and mentorship. I am honored to be working alongside him.”

Griffith has also served as English teacher and department chair, admissions director and head boys basketball coach, not to mention the countless committees and task forces he has led. He earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University, a master’s degree from Kent State University and a master’s certificate from Findlay University.

“The Hoban community has been an extension of my family my entire life,” Griffith said. “My wife Amy and I proudly sent our four children to Hoban, the youngest of whom is currently a junior. It’s my life's work and mission to serve the Hoban students, families and Holy Cross educators and I hope to impact Hoban positively in this new role as principal.”
