Performing Arts

Lorem Ipsum

For students with musical interest and theater talent, the performing arts program is designed to increase individual ability. The performing arts program enlivens the cultural life of the Hoban community.

One credit of Visual or Performing Arts is required for graduation.

MUSIC PROGRAM

The music courses may satisfy the requirement at many universities for a unit in visual and performing arts. All students with musical and acting ability are encouraged to use it by participating in the choral, steel drum band and/or theater programs. Some cocurricular time commitment is necessary for membership in both organizations, but the benefits are extensive.

Participants in performing ensembles perform at the Winter and Spring Fine Arts Festivals and in the annual Ohio Solo and Ensemble Contest held in late January or early February.

THEATRE PROGRAM

Participation in theater allows students to gain knowledge about the theatre through hands-on learning. Whether you choose to perform on stage or work behind the scenes, you will learn about theatre, grow as an individual and enjoy the close-knit family of the theatre program.

FALL PLAY: LITTLE WOMEN
NOV. 15-16

Hoban Theatre proudly presented its 2025 fall play production of Little Women on Nov. 15 and Nov. 16

Set during the American Civil War, Little Women follows the coming-of-age journey of the March sisters—Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy—as they navigate love, loss, family, and the pursuit of their dreams. Kate Hamill’s fresh, witty, and heartfelt adaptation breathes new life into Alcott’s classic, blending humor and poignancy while exploring what it means to grow up and find one’s place in the world.

Under the direction of Alex Funk, Hoban’s production featured a talented cast and crew of students who brought the timeless characters to life with warmth, energy and authenticity. The creative team worked collaboratively to evoke the world of the March family through imaginative staging and design.
