Hoban’s Academic Success Center (ASC) collaborates closely with the faculty and administration to provide students with the support they need to thrive.

Hoban’s counseling team provides comprehensive services that address the whole student—academic, social and emotional growth.

Students with approved accommodation plans receive the support necessary to thrive. A range of common accommodations is offered and tailored to support individual learning needs, which may include:

• Extended time on tests 
• Preferential seating to reduce distractions
• Small group testing environments
• Access to audiobooks or text-to-speech tools
• Use of graphic organizers to support written expression
• Breaks during instruction or testing

Hoban also recognizes any medical accommodations necessary per medical documentation, including students with diabetes, temporary physical limitations, asthma, etc.

Students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) receive specially designed instruction (SDI) that allows them to access, engage with and make progress in the general education curriculum. 

• Specially-designed instruction in mathematics, reading, writing, organization, task management and social skills
• Academic check-ins
• Post-secondary planning
• Classroom and testing accommodations

Intervention services are tailored to the specific needs outlined in a student’s IEP. Intervention specialists work with students in small groups during designated intervention times in a resource room setting. Intervention services are provided and funded through the assistance of Ohio’s Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship (JPSN). 

Please note: Enrollment into the intervention program is open to prospective freshmen who meet Hoban admission requirements.

The Holy Cross Pathways program offers a structured, modified curriculum for students with an intellectual disability or other qualifying diagnosis that requires a modified curriculum and instruction.

• Supportive, small-group learning environment
• Customized four-year course of study designed to foster independence, academic growth and life skills

Services provided to students enrolled in Holy Cross Pathways are partially funded through the assistance of Ohio’s Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship (JPSN). 

Please note: The Holy Cross Pathways program is exclusively available to students entering the ninth grade. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept transfer students into this program, as it is a structured, four-year curriculum that must be completed in sequence from freshman through senior year.
