"Hoban has helped me grow in confidence. Because of Hoban, I have learned how to advocate for myself, foster strong relationships with my peers and teachers, as well as expand upon my public speaking skills. My advice for younger students is to shadow at Hoban to experience the castle for yourself. Don’t pick a school solely based on where your friends are going—go where you feel you will succeed the most. " —Lucie Kenst ’28

"My academic skillset has improved and grown significantly. I’ve gained a lot of strong friendships that have helped me grow into a better version of myself." —Madison Watson ’25

"Hoban has helped me be myself. I came from a small school where I knew everyone. When I came to Hoban I only knew a few people and it was very scary, but many students and teachers welcomed me and have helped me be more comfortable putting myself out there."—Sarah Cook ’26

"At Hoban, I’ve experienced growth in my academic skills, as well as in my spirituality, relationships and even athletics. Hoban has instilled in me a work ethic and dedication that I know will benefit me for a lifetime.

As I was considering area high schools, my decision became clear the moment I walked under the golden dome and toward the Holy Cross Chapel. I immediately felt an overwhelming sense of belonging, and I knew that Hoban was home. Hoban offers an incredible blend of rigorous academics, competitive athletics and engaging cocurriculars, all within a safe, nurturing and supportive environment." —Frances Knauer ’28

"I don't believe many other schools offer the same opportunity to meet and be friends with people coming from so many different communities and backgrounds. Understanding our commonalities while also celebrating and appreciating our differences is a life skill that I am grateful to be learning in high school." —Sam Kosko ’25

"Hoban has helped me grow academically, socially and spiritually. Hoban offers countless opportunities to learn and join activities. I have made lifelong friends and have learned more about my faith." —Nate Booker ’26

"When I visited Hoban, what stood out to me was the relationships between teachers and students. You could tell the teachers were invested in their students and were making an effort to know them and support them in and out of the classroom. One of the things that I think Hoban does really well is creating meaningful learning experiences for students. Teachers really try to create opportunities for hands-on and immersive learning that prepare us for the future in the real world." —Riley Termine ’29

"Hoban has played a crucial part in strengthening my Catholic faith through a Christ-filled education. I have met people who encourage me to be the best version of myself every day, and they push me to make a difference in our community.

I chose Hoban because I immediately felt accepted, welcome, and at home. I was impressed by the kindness of everyone I met, and I hope incoming students can feel the same way that I do every day." –Maggie Sejba ’28
