Tuition & Financial Assistance

Incoming freshmen can earn scholarships based on their HSPT score. These scholarships are renewable each year. 

• Blessed Basil Moreau Scholarship (99): $7,500/year
• Father Dujarie Scholarship (95-98): $5,500/year
• St. André Bessette Scholarship (90-94): $4,000/year
• St. Joseph Merit Scholarship (80-89): $2,500/year

The Family Plan

This is a tuition reduction granted to families with two or more students attending Hoban during the same school year. A $750 discount will be credited to the older of the two students enrolled, and a $1,200 discount will be given to the third and subsequent children concurrently enrolled at Hoban. The discount will be revised as older children graduate from Hoban.

Catholic School Teacher Grant

The Diocese of Cleveland provides tuition support to each student with a parent who is a full-time employee of a Catholic elementary or high school in the Diocese of Cleveland. The amount is determined by the Diocese of Cleveland. In the 2023-24 academic year, this support was $900 per student. An annual application to the Diocese of Cleveland is required. 

Diocesan Tuition Assistance (DTA)

DTA grants are need-based awards administered by the Diocese of Cleveland without regard to religion, parish affiliation or feeder school affiliation. All potential and returning Hoban students are encouraged to apply via the FACTS Grant and Aid application by March 15 for priority consideration. 

Alumni Legacy Grant

An annual tuition reduction of $500 will be awarded to each family with at least one parent who graduated from Hoban. This is a family-based award. The amount does not increase according to the number of students enrolled or parent graduates. 

All students in Ohio are eligible to receive an EdChoice scholarship towards their Hoban tuition. In the 2024-25 academic year, the EdChoice Scholarship amount ranges from $8,408 to $840.80.

The Jon Peterson Special Needs (JPSN) Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students who are eligible to attend kindergarten through 12th grade and have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their district. The amount of each scholarship will be based on the primary disability condition identified on the student's Evaluation Team Report (ETR) and will not exceed $27,000. Students must be enrolled in the scholarship program for the entire program year to receive the full scholarship amount.

Work-Study gives tuition credit for a student or parent's employment at Hoban during the summer and/or school year. On-campus jobs are available to all students regardless of financial need. Priority for Work-Study positions is given to students who receive need-based financial assistance. However, once those students have secured employment, the program is open to all other student applicants. Preference is given to underclassmen who are not eligible to receive a work permit. Applications for Work-Study are due by May 1.

Incoming ninth-grade students receive application forms for Work-Study when they register for classes in March. Currently enrolled Hoban students can obtain a Work-Study application form from the central office at any time. This program is partially funded by a grant from the GAR Foundation.

Hoban Work Study Application

An Ohio 529 Savings Plan is is a tax-advantaged investment plan operated by a state to encourage saving for education expenses. A 529 plan may be used for tuition, books, fees, computer technology or room and board at a qualifying college and for up to $10,000 in tuition at a K-12 private or religious school.
