Competitive Balance
When forming a team, the five players with the highest ranking must not have an average ranking higher than 3.5 (see below for player ranking criteria).
6: Active College or active/former Professional player
5: Played College Varsity Basketball
4: Played Varsity High School or College Club Basketball
3: Played Intramural or CYO in High School or College
2: Recreational player
1: Just out there having a good time
- Players 40 years old and over who fall under 6,5, or 4 will have their ranking adjusted by 1 level
- Players 50 years old and over who fall under 6,5, or 4 will have their ranking adjusted by 2 levels
- Teams may have up to 2 non Hoban Alumni

RULES
Rounds 1-5 Pool Play
- 1 shot for ball from the foul line
- Play by 1s to 11 points (win by 2) or 12 minutes (3 minute OT, 3v3 knockout game for Double OT)
Seeding criteria from Pool Play
- Wins/Losses
- Point Differential (“The Diff”)
- Points for
- 3v3 knockout game
Bracket Play
- Top 3 from each division receive a bye
- 1 shot for ball from foul line
- Play by 1s to 11 points (win by 2) or 12 minutes (3 minute OT, 3v3 knockout game for Double OT)
***If both teams agree, 4v4 may be played to conserve energy.
***We may need to modify pool play and game time rules as necessary to custom fit the event into the gym time available and safety of all participants.
