Prayer of the Day

The Spes Unica is the symbol for the Congregation of Holy Cross and is Latin for "Hail to the Cross, our only hope."

Each school day at the beginning of second period, Hoban students and Holy Cross educators pause for prayer. An assigned reader announces the intentions and leads the prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance over the public address system. Check this page daily so that you may share in our prayers for the selected donors of the day, for each of us and for our world.

Prayer of the day

  • I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I pray that you would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You.

Donors of the day

  • Lisa May and Albert Noe

Thought for the day

(From the writings of Blessed Basil Moreau, CSC, founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross:.

  • Seek after holiness, without which no one will see God. Take care to be faithful to the graces that are given to you. (Letters)
