Have you ever wondered how colleges evaluate applications?  Are you confused about the difference between early action, early decision and rolling admissions?  Do you wonder if your student should apply test-optional? Sometimes the application process can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be.  

Please join us for an informational webinar regarding the college application process on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 6:30 p.m. In partnership with two admissions professionals, we will be answering these questions and reviewing the timeline for applications.

Seniors are invited to attend the Mum Day decorating beginning at 7 p.m. on Sept. 28. Any student who wishes to stay the night at Hoban must return a signed permission slip. The senior class will be asking for donations and/or decorations.

Oct. 15, 2023

Each senior is required to schedule a time to get their senior portrait taken at Lyon’s Photography by Oct. 15. The portraits are used in the yearbook and the class composite. There is no cost to the family for the portrait unless you decide to purchase prints.

DEC. 7, 2023

A Jostens representative will be at Hoban to take Cap and Gown, Graduation Announcement and Senior Product orders on December 7 during Enrichment and lunch periods outside the cafeteria. There is no fee for just a cap and gown but everyone must be measured by the Jostens rep. More information will be shared at a later date.

MARCH 4, 2024, 6 p.m.

All senior parents are invited to attend a parent dinner. Members of the administration will provide senior event related information.

The cost to attend is $10 per person. Cash or checks can be submitted to Janet Wood or Michelle Agnoni in the Central Office or paid at the dinner.

Congratulatory ads for your senior will be published in the 2023-24 Hoban Yearbook. The deadline for submission is March 15, 2024. 

• Each message can contain up to 200 characters and a color or black and white photograph of your student when they were young.
• Messages are printed in color. All photos must be submitted digitally via email to karafilise@hoban.org. Please be sure the photo is in a jpeg format with at least a minimum 200 pixels resolution, otherwise it may not print clearly.
• Payment: After completing the online form, mail completed order form and check for $50 (made out to Archbishop Hoban High School) to:

APRIL 15, 2024

The Hoban graduation program lists college scholarships for each student. Only the name of the scholarship is listed, not the dollar amount. Please email or deliver copies of those award letters to the Student Services Office. 

Please include all scholarship offers, even if you are not attending that awarding school. This would include merit scholarships, athletic scholarships and private scholarships. Please have these submitted by Monday, April 15, so they can be included in the graduation program. We will publicize a collective scholarship amount for the Class of 2024.

APRIL 25, 2024

Seniors are encouraged to wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt to represent the college or university they plan to attend. They will celebrate Mass as a class at 2 p.m. Following Mass, photos will be taken of the class and each college group.

MAY 6-17, 2024

Students who will take an advanced placement test will do so in early May. The schedule for the AP tests will be shared during the second semester.

MAY 1-13, 2024

Every student will receive two tickets for reserved seats and six tickets for general admission. Parents will receive a link via email to request additional general admission tickets. Please note, not all requests will be fulfilled. More information will be shared at the Senior Parent Dinner on March 4. 

Provided all graduation requirements have been met, students may pick up their cap and gown after the all-school Mass on May 14. Students in danger of failing a required course will not receive their cap and gown until course requirements have been met.

• All tuition and fees must be paid in full through the Business Office by May 8.
• iPad must be turned in along with the lightning USB cable and the big brick power adapter. If the iPad is not in working condition or the screen is cracked, then a fee will be charged to repair it. If the cord and adapter do not charge the iPad, a fee will be charged to replace it.
• All textbooks and supplemental books must be turned in to the proper teacher or a new book must be purchased through the Business Office by May 13.
• All art supplies must be returned to the proper teacher.
• All service hours must be completed and logged in x2VOL.
• All sports equipment and uniforms must be returned to the Athletic Office.
• All disciplinary matters must be settled by Tuesday, May 13.

All prom tickets will be purchased before and after school. Cash and checks only. Ticket sale dates and times will be announced at a later date.

Hoban senior prom tickets cost $50/each.

SENIOR AFTER-PROM

10 P.M. – 1:30 A.M., THE UNIVERSITY OF AKRON REC CENTER

• Check-in begins at 10 p.m. and students must arrive by 10:30 p.m.
• Students who have to leave After Prom early must have a signed parental permission form turned in the week before Prom. Please strongly encourage your student to stay safe with us for the entire event.
• To help defray the cost of After Prom, a $50 minimum donation is requested per family. Parents can either: Send a check to the Hoban Central Office marked “After-Prom.”
• Pay online on Venmo @Archbishop-Hoban. If you donate via Venmo, please type “After-Prom” in the Venmo description so the Advancement Office can appropriately designate the donation.
