Equity and Inclusion: %22Inclusion is not bringing people into what already exists; it is making a new space, a better space for everyone.%22 -George Dei

INCLUSIVENESS

As Holy Cross educators, including the board of directors, leadership team, faculty, staff and coaches, we are committed to engaging in meaningful, intentional dialogue that allows our school to cultivate and sustain an environment in which everyone feels welcome, safe, loved and respected.

From the Holy Cross Constitutions we read, "The mission is not simple, for the impoverishments we would relieve are not simple. There are networks of privilege, prejudice and power so commonplace that often neither oppressors nor victims are aware of them. We must be aware and also understanding by reason of fellowship with the impoverished and by reason of patient learning. For the kingdom to come in this world, disciples must have the competence to see and the courage to act." (Constitution 2).

Driven by this directive from the Holy Cross Constitutions, Hoban has important work to do.

We acknowledge Hoban's role to identify problems to create change for justice. We must build on and embrace our 10 Holy Cross core values. We must begin within the Hoban family and look to the Holy Family as our model for divine providence, integrity, educating hearts and minds, zeal, discipline, excellence, option for the poor, inclusiveness and hope.
