EXTRAVAGANZA 2023

Extravaganza is a year-round effort. Proceeds from the Extravaganza events support Hoban students through financial assistance and scholarships, helps fund campus renovations and improvements and guarantees the Hoban experience that educates hearts and minds in the Holy Cross tradition.

With a sold-out crowd, we are excited to announce that Hoban's annual Extravaganza fundraiser grossed more than $920,000! Thank you to all of our Extravaganza sponsors, advertisers, donors, volunteers and bidding participants. We could not have done it without you!

Extravaganza is a year-round effort, including two other fundraising events—Extravaganza Golf Outing and A Knight of Spirits. Extravaganza 2023, which annually benefits student scholarships and other school needs, was the school’s 38th annual event. Extravaganza is a true testament to the power of family and gives Hoban the "extra" leverage needed to provide our Knights with vital financial and material resources, meaningful spiritual engagement opportunities, world-class academic programming and robust cocurricular activities.

BERNARD SCHOLARSHIP MATCH

Special thanks to the Ralph L. and Florence A. Bernard Foundation for their generous Extravaganza Scholarship Challenge Match of $75,000 and to everyone who contributed to the scholarship challenge. With your generosity, we raised more than $193,000 for student scholarships during the event!

ABOUT EXTRAVAGANZA

Since 1986, parents, alumni, employees and friends of Hoban have helped plan this dinner and auction event. It is now Hoban's largest fundraising event. Proceeds from the auction have supported facility improvements, student scholarships and technology upgrades.

Donate an Item

Support the auction by donating a gift to the live and silent auctions. Auction donations may include gift certificates, tickets to sporting or other special events, use of vacation condos or homes, jewelry, small appliances, sport items, autographed memorabilia, golf packages, electronics, hosting a dinner or theme party, wine and spirits. If you or someone you know has a special talent or trade, you can donate it as a service certificate to the auction. Monetary donations are always welcome.

HOW TO DONATE

If you’re not sure what to donate, browse the Amazon Wish List. At checkout, select Archbishop Hoban High School-Extravaganza's Gift Registry Address as the shipping address. The item will be shipped right to us and you will be recognized as the donor.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Extravaganza committee is seeking adult and student volunteers for Extravaganza 2023 – A KNIGHT WITH THE GREAT GATSBY.

It takes a lot of people to make Extravaganza possible – more than 100 students and adults. Volunteer positions are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Fill out the forms by March 17, 2023.

BERNARD SCHOLARSHIP MATCH

Thank you to the Bernard Foundation for offering a $75,000 Scholarship Match at this year's Extravaganza!

For nearly 20 years, Hoban students have benefited from the generosity of The Bernard Family and their progressive investment in hundreds of Hoban students' education.

The Bernard Family legacy began with Mr. Ralph L. Bernard Sr. who passed away in 2009 at the age of 94. His children, Ralph Bernard Jr. ’62 and Mrs. Regina Dain, grandchildren Adam Bernard and Angie Craig, and the Bernard Foundation have continued this commitment to Catholic education in the Akron area. The Bernard Family, with the support of generous Extravaganza guests, has raised more than $1.7 million for student financial assistance over the past 18 years.
