Ronald Brown, a distinguished Hoban alumnus from the Class of 1968, holds degrees from Princeton University and the University of Chicago. He is a retired commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve, where he earned two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals for his work in writing and research with the U.S. Naval Historical Center.

As an accomplished author, Ron wrote A History of Charitable Gift Planning (Amazon, 2017). His career in gift planning has spanned several prestigious institutions, including Princeton University, Columbia University, Fordham University, Pratt Institute, the United Way of America, and the National Wildlife Federation.

Ron has been deeply involved in the field of charitable gift planning through various leadership roles. He served as a board member and chair of the Research Committee for the American Council on Gift Annuities and was a board member of the National Committee on Planned Giving, now known as the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. He also served as president of the Gift Planning Council of New Jersey, a board member of the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York, founding chair of Leave a Legacy New Jersey, a member of the CANARAS planned giving council, and a board member of the ALS Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Steve Dimengo, a proud alumnus of Hoban’s Class of 1979, has built an impressive career as a tax attorney and Certified Public Accountant. He earned his B.A. magna cum laude (1983), MTax (1986), and J.D. cum laude (1986) from The University of Akron.

With over 35 years of experience, Steve is the Managing Partner at Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, where he specializes in tax law. He is a highly sought-after speaker and advisor and currently serves as the Chair of the Ohio State Bar Association Taxation Section.

Steve has been recognized as one of Ohio’s leading tax attorneys in the prestigious Chambers USA Guide 2024, an accolade he has received for five consecutive years. Chambers USA is renowned for its accurate and comprehensive legal rankings, reflecting the highest standards of excellence and credibility in the legal field.
