Immersion Trips

Trip Summary: This eight day service/immersion experience will put you in the heart of a local community in Monterrey, Mexico. This trip is full of positive and fulfilling experiences that lifts students out of their comfort zone and encourages them to meaningfully serve others. Some trip highlights include visiting homes to bring Communion to those who cannot attend Mass, interacting and playing with children in the community and being young role models, and working the food pantry for the community at the local parish. Must be able to speak Spanish.

Trip Summary: This adventure trip is not for the faint of heart. This Easter break trip will be physically and mentally demanding that will test your grit and empower you to challenge yourself to greater and greater heights. Over the course of the week, students will get to visit three national parks; the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, and Bryce Canyon. While at those parks, students will visit iconic landmarks such as Antelope Canyon. Students should expect to be camping for the majority of the trip.

Trip Summary: This service experience offers students a week at a sustainable farm to complete meaningful work. It is a true living of Catholic Social Teaching. From spending time as a community and getting to know the people at Bethlehem Farm, to helping people repair their houses in the area, this trip epitomizes the definition of service and giving back. This trip will cover the service hours needed for students of all grade levels.

Trip Summary: This will be a service trip to New Orleans during Spring break of next year. Most of the Holy Cross schools will be sending three students. This will be an opportunity to meet with students from across the country and engage in service with them!

Trip Summary: This immersive trip offers excursions to see the natural and beautiful views of Belize. A few trip highlights involve several snorkeling opportunities, visiting the Mayan ruins, exploring the caves, zip lining through the jungle, spending time relaxing on the beach, and going on a hike at night in the jungle.

Trip Summary: It is impossible to speak about the land of Ireland without also invoking the resilience of the Irish, as well as a culture distinctly shaped by Celtic spirituality. In travelling with a history, biology and theology teacher—students will explore the spirit of the Irish landscape from every angle, understanding the intrinsic connection between people and their land. Not only will students be exposed to a rich culture that will inspire a broadening of their own worldview, but they will reflect upon their own ancestry—personal and collective—and how the experience of their home landscape shapes their sense of home and belonging.

Trip Summary: This Holy Cross/Religious experience takes students to Montreal, Canada to visit the historic and iconic St. Joseph Oratory. This pilgrimage gives students the chance to interact with individuals in religious life and learn more about the Holy Cross Community. It will include Mass, Stations of the Cross and adoration while learning about the life of our only Holy Cross saint, St. Brother André Bessette.
