Trip moderators: Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Zeller
Did you know that more than 25% of Costa Rica is protected and/or a National Park and that more than 5% of the world’s biodiversity is in Costa Rica? Experience Costa Rica’s beautiful and diverse ecology on this cultural trip. You will see the beautiful biodiversity while visiting many parts of the country.
We will travel to Tortuguero, a rural town teeming with wildlife and discover its 11 different habitats while taking a boat tour through the canals. In Arenal, discover a beautiful lake, a powerful waterfall, hot springs, and a looming volcano. We may be lucky enough to see the lava rocks falling from the volcano at night! And don’t forget the chocolate tour! In Guanacaste, we will experience an amazing collection of plants and animals against a backdrop of beaches and forested bluffs.
We will be hiking, white water rafting, zip lining, horseback riding and eat delicious Costa Rican food. We are also going to do service while in Costa Rica, and of course, learn about the people and the Costa Rican culture. The trip will be right after school is out in 2025 (tentative dates: May 27-June 4, 2025). All students interested in Science, Spanish and culture are invited to participate. The cost will include all travel, meals, excursions, insurance and tours.
Any questions see Sra. Zeller (room 26) or Mrs. Bates (room 237).
