Each senior is required to schedule a time to get their senior portrait taken at Lyon’s Photography by Oct. 15. The portraits are used in the yearbook and the class composite.

• Now-Oct. 15: No cost to the family for the portrait unless you decide to purchase prints or you request optional editing services
• Beginning Oct. 16: A $25 sitting fee will be charged to the family
• Beginning Nov. 1: A $15 rush charge will be charged to the family
• Retouching, if desired: $20 charge

A Jostens representative will be at Hoban on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, to take orders for your Cap & Gown (REQUIRED), graduation announcements, class rings, and more.  You can fill out the attached order form to order in school during lunch on December 11, or you can order everything online.  Please be sure to order before the deadline so your items are delivered on time.

All seniors MUST order a cap and gown by Dec. 18 to receive it on time. There is no fee.  Order at the link below.

Seniors must complete 25 hours of Christian service. All hours must be completed and submitted for verification and approval by Friday, March 6. This is a graduation requirement. All hours must be completed with the same organization and must involve working directly with the poor, vulnerable, differently-abled or marginalized.

Congratulatory ads (also known as "Baby Ads") for your senior will be published in the 2026-27 Hoban Yearbook. The deadline for submission is March 27, 2026.

Fill out the Ad Form

• Each message can contain up to 200 characters and a color or black and white photograph of your student when they were young.
• Messages are printed in color. All photos must be submitted digitally via email to karafilise@hoban.org. Please be sure the photo is in a jpeg format with at least a minimum 200 pixels resolution, otherwise it may not print clearly.

APril 17, 2026

The Hoban graduation program lists all college scholarships for each student from every college they received awards from, and Hoban publicizes the collective scholarship amount earned by the Class of 2026. 

Please submit this form for each college/university that offers at least one scholarship by April 17. Please include scholarships even if you are not attending the awarding school. Include merit scholarships, athletic scholarships and private scholarships.  Do NOT include need-based scholarships.

How to Request and Transfer Your CCP Transcripts to Your Future College

Access the transcript request portal at the college where your student earned their CCP credits. Fill out the transcript request form on that college's website and send it to the college your student is enrolling in.

**If your student took classes at more than one college, you must send a transcript from each school.

Seniors are encouraged to wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt to represent the college/university they plan to attend or other post-graduation plans. They will celebrate Mass as a class. Following Mass, photos will be taken of the class and each college group.

MAY 26, 2026

CAPS, GOWNS AND COMMENCEMENT TICKETS

• Students will receive their graduation tickets with their cap and gown on May 26, after the final all-school Mass, if all requirements for graduation are satisfied.
• All students will receive a total of 10 tickets: two reserved tickets* and eight general admission tickets.  
• Additional tickets can be requested via a Google Form that will be sent to the students' Hoban emails in early May. 

*Please note: the row, section and seat numbers printed on the reserved tickets do not apply to graduation seating and are for the Akron Civic Theatre’s internal use only. Reserved seats are first-come, first-served.

REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE GRADUATION MATERIALS

• To receive graduation materials, the following items must be completed:
  • All fees, including MealTime, must be paid to the Business Office by May 15.
  • iPad and charging cord/brick must be returned, or a new one paid for to the technology office. 
  • All textbooks, art supplies, etc., must be returned to the proper faculty member. 
  • Students must be in good academic standing to graduate through the Office of Student Services and Associate Principal of Student Services Jennifer Mattes.
  • All disciplinary matters must be satisfied with Associate Principal and Dean of Student Life Mr. Harris. 
  • All athletic uniforms and equipment must be returned to the coach or athletic office. Senior student-athletes still in season are exempt. 

AP TESTING

Students who will take an advanced placement test will do so May 4-15. The schedule for the AP tests will be shared during the second semester.

AP EXAM REQUESTS
If your student plans to take an Advanced Placement exam next May, the sign-up time to reserve an exam is now. AP teachers will distribute the request forms to their students during the week of Oct. 13 and have extra forms available. To request an AP exam, a $40 non-refundable deposit is due to the Business Office by Nov. 3, 2025, by cash or check (made payable to “Archbishop Hoban High School”) for EACH AP exam. The total cost of each exam is $99, and the balance will be due by May 1, 2026. To avoid any late fees, place your order this month. 

FINAL EXAMS

Attendance is required for any class with a final exam. Teachers will communicate the exam schedule with students in April and May.

• Check-in begins at 10 p.m. and students must arrive by 10:30 p.m.
• Students who have to leave After Prom early must have a signed parental permission form turned in the week before Prom. Please strongly encourage your student to stay safe with us for the entire event.

• All students and guests must have a waiver to participate in the After-Prom activities at the Akron University Rec Center.

WHAT IS AFTER-PROM?

After-prom takes place immediately following the dance on May 15 from 10:30 p.m.—1:30 a.m. at the University of Akron Rec Center. It is open to ALL Hoban seniors and seniors' guests to the dance, whether you attend Prom or not. It provides a safe, fun environment for the seniors to celebrate together as a class at the end of their high school career. 

AFTER-PROM FUNDRAISING

The after-prom committee is tasked with raising close to $10,000 to cover the cost of the evening—venue, food, activities and prizes. We will hold various fundraisers throughout second semester. 

Each family is asked to contribute $50 or more to help support After-Prom. While this is not mandatory to attend After-Prom, it will help immensely. We don't want any senior to not attend after-prom if they do not donate. You can Venmo donations to @Archbishop-Hoban and include "After-Prom" in the Venmo description. Please also consider donating prizes and/or candy at the links below. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help at after-prom!

Non-Hoban Student Guests

If you plan to bring a guest who does not attend Hoban, you must turn in a Non-Hoban Guest Pass. Hard copies are available in the Central Office. The submitted permission slips must be hard copies. No electronic submissions, please. All guest passes are due Monday, May 11, at 3 p.m.
