Seniors are invited to attend the Mum Day decorating beginning at 7 p.m. on Sept. 25. Any senior who wishes to stay the night at Hoban must return a signed permission slip by Friday, Sept. 19. No late forms will be accepted.

Oct. 15, 2025

Each senior is required to schedule a time to get their senior portrait taken at Lyon’s Photography by Oct. 15. The portraits are used in the yearbook and the class composite. If taken by Oct. 15, there is no cost to the family for the portrait unless you decide to purchase prints or you request optional editing services. A sitting fee will be charged for portraits taken after Oct. 15. Read more

Dec. 11, 2025

A Jostens representative will be at Hoban on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, to take orders for your Cap & Gown (REQUIRED), graduation announcements, class rings, and more.  You can fill out the attached order form to order in school during lunch on December 11, or you can order everything online.  Please be sure to order before the deadline so your items are delivered on time.

All seniors MUST order a cap and gown by Dec. 18 to receive it on time. There is no fee.  Order at the link below.

March 6, 2026

Seniors must complete 25 hours of Christian service. All hours must be completed and submitted for verification and approval by Friday, March 6. This is a graduation requirement. All hours must be completed with the same organization and must involve working directly with the poor, vulnerable, differently-abled or marginalized.

All senior parents are encouraged to attend the parent dinner. Members of the administration will provide senior event-related information.

The cost to attend is $10 per person. Cash or checks can be submitted to the Central Office or paid at the dinner.

Congratulatory ads (also known as "Baby Ads") for your senior will be published in the 2026-27 Hoban Yearbook. The deadline for submission is March 27, 2026.

• Each message can contain up to 200 characters and a color or black and white photograph of your student when they were young.
• Messages are printed in color. All photos must be submitted digitally via email to karafilise@hoban.org. Please be sure the photo is in a jpeg format with at least a minimum 200 pixels resolution, otherwise it may not print clearly.
• Payment: After completing the online form, mail completed order form and check for $50 (made out to Archbishop Hoban High School) to:

APril 17, 2026

The Hoban graduation program lists all college scholarships for each student, and Hoban publicizes the collective scholarship amount earned by the Class of 2026.  Please submit all scholarship offers, even if you are not attending the awarding school, by April 17. Include merit scholarships, athletic scholarships and private scholarships.

Seniors are encouraged to wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt to represent the college/university they plan to attend or other post-graduation plans. They will celebrate Mass as a class. Following Mass, photos will be taken of the class and each college group.

MAY 4-15, 2026

Students who will take an advanced placement test will do so in early May. The schedule for the AP tests will be shared during the second semester.

AP EXAM REQUESTS
If your student plans to take an Advanced Placement exam next May, the sign-up time to reserve an exam is now. AP teachers will distribute the request forms to their students during the week of Oct. 13 and have extra forms available. To request an AP exam, a $40 non-refundable deposit is due to the Business Office by Nov. 3, 2025, by cash or check (made payable to “Archbishop Hoban High School”) for EACH AP exam. The total cost of each exam is $99 and the balance will be due by May 1, 2026. To avoid any late fees, place your order this month.

COMMENCEMENT TICKETS

Students will receive their graduation tickets with their cap and gown on May 26 after the final all-school Mass if all requirements for graduation are satisfied.

SENIOR AFTER-PROM

10 P.M. – 1:30 A.M.

• Check-in begins at 10 p.m. and students must arrive by 10:30 p.m.
• Students who have to leave After Prom early must have a signed parental permission form turned in the week before Prom. Please strongly encourage your student to stay safe with us for the entire event.

WHAT IS AFTER-PROM?

After-prom takes place immediately following the dance on May 15 from 10:30 p.m.—1:30 a.m. at the University of Akron Rec Center. It is open to ALL Hoban seniors and seniors' guests to the dance, whether you attend Prom or not. It provides a safe, fun environment for the seniors to celebrate together as a class at the end of their high school career. 

The after-prom committee is tasked with raising close to $10,000 to cover the cost of the evening—venue, food, activities and prizes. We will hold various fundraisers throughout second semester.

Attendance is required for any class with a final exam. Teachers will communicate exam schedule with students in April and May.

• Ladies should dress in modest attire.
• All students must wear dress shoes – no exceptions!
