College Essay Writing Workshop

August 5 & 12, 2026

8:30 - 10:30 a.m. | Moreau Ministry Hall

Students in the Class of 2027 are invited to participate in a College Essay Writing Workshop led by Ms. Adaway and Mrs. Blackiston. All seniors are required to write a full rough draft of their college essay per their summer reading assignment. This workshop will help students with their essays, regardless of where they are in the process.   

Day one will include reviewing the essay prompts, writing tips, brainstorming, conferencing with Ms. Adaway and Mrs. Blackiston as needed, and writing time. The second day will focus on writing, editing/revising, and teacher feedback. Students can choose to participate in one or both days of the workshop, but will receive more feedback if they attend both days of the workshop. Students will have a workable copy of their college essay.
