College Essay Writing Workshop

August 13 & 14

8:30 - 11:30 a.m. | Holy Cross Room

Students in the Class of 2026 are invited to participate in a Common App college essay writing workshop led by Ms. Adaway. All incoming seniors are required to write a full rough draft of their Common App essay per their summer reading assignment. This is due on Wednesday, September 10. This workshop will help students with their essays, regardless of where they are in the process so far.   

Day one will include reviewing the common app prompts, writing tips, brainstorming, conferencing with Ms. Adaway as needed, and writing time. Day two will focus on writing, editing/revising, and teacher feedback. Students can choose to participate in one or both days of the workshop. By the end of the workshop, students will have a workable copy of their college essay - ideally suitable for submission on September 10.
